# Own Your Neighborhood

Here's what usually happens: you build the city, maintain the buildings, fill the neighborhoods — and someone else owns all of it, and you pay them rent. **We're building the inverse. You build your way in, and what you build is partly yours.**

## One path in

**Join → get vouched → pledge sweat.** There's no cash gate for builders and renters — you enter through contribution. A member vouches for you, you're vetted for alignment, you sign a sweat-equity pledge, and you're working — and earning — in week one.

## What you earn

Every hour of real work — building, deconstruction, operations, even training — earns **EQTBLT**, a \~$1 equity-credit that is *yours*, permanently, soul-bound to you. It isn't a paycheck you spend and lose. It's **ownership that accumulates.** You spend it in-network — toward a home, goods, services, a down payment — and the DAO fulfills it with what the community produces.

## Why this isn't a gimmick — the math

Because the work is settled in equity, **the community's stake is the biggest stake from the start.** The financial model shows member ownership crossing to majority early and approaching full community ownership over time, while outside investors are paid a capped return and step back. The labor that builds the neighborhood *is* the equity.
